Suggested diversions

Below is a list of the suggested diversions that we are aware of. We hope these will make it a little easier for you to amend your routes. Take care to view the whole document, there might be additional information that may help you. Please also note that, whilst we have taken every care to ensure these suggested diversions are appropriate, it is important to check any restrictions or Network Rail structures along any diverted routes.

A4304 - Walcote This is a suggested diversion to avoid a 44T weight limit recently placed on a bridge on the A4304 at Walcote pdf
Dock Gate 20, Southampton This is a suggested diversion to access Dock Gate 20 (1st October 2018 to 1st May 2019). pdf
London    
Dartford Tunnel. Information and charges. pdf
Tideway: Carnwath Road Construction site. This shows the suggested route into site for abnormal loads exceeding 44T. pdf 
Hanger Lane, general abnormal load closure. This shows routes permitted, not permitted and suggested diversions. pdf
Victoria, London. This is the suggested diversion if you wish to avoid this area. pdf
A4 Great West Road / A219 Hammersmith Gyratory. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
A2 (Near Peckham), There are weak Network Rail structures along the A2. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
M1 / A1(M)    
M1 J40, No abnormal loads are permitted on M1 Junction 40. If you are travelling to Dewsbury, this is the suggested re-route. If you are not travelling to Dewsbury, the A1 should be used. pdf
A1(M) J36 & J37 crossing the River Don. The suggested diversion is to use M1 or use the M18. The PDF shows the location of the restriction. pdf
M25    
M25 J3, there is a 40T weight limit. This shows the suggested diversion pdf
M25 J30 to J31 Mardyke Viaduct, abnormal loads are not permitted to cross these structures. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
M25 J20 to J21, there is an 80T weight limit. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
M4    
M4 J25 - J26 River Usk, there is an 80T weight limit. This shows the suggested diversion leaving M4 at J24 to join A48 to re-join M4 at J28. pdf
M4 J44 - J45 River Tawe Bridge has an 80T weight restriction. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
M5    
M5 J1 & J2 Oldbury Bents, abnormal load movements will be individually assessed on axle weights. This shows the two suggested diversions. pdf
M56    
M56 Helsby Viaduct, this is restricted to C & U only. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
M6    
M6 J5 & J6 Jarvis Way, abnormal load movements will be individually assessed on axle weights. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
M6 J16 & J17 Hassall Green Road & Hassall Green Railway, abnormal load movements will be individually assessed on axle weights. This shows the three suggested diversions. pdf
M60    
M60 Barton High Level Bridge, general abnormal load closure, restricted to c & u only. This shows the two suggested diversions. pdf
M61    
M61 J9 & M6 J30, Duckworth Railway (weak bridge), abnormal load movements will be individually assessed on axle weights. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
M62    
M62 between J30 & J31 Altofts River. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
M621    
M621 Juntion 2, there is a 44te weight restriction. The suggested diversion is to use the on/off slips pdf
M73 / M74    
M73 / M74 Southbound, there is a 90te weight restriction on the southbound slip road. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
General - North    
A628 Freshwater, there is a restriction in place based on axle weights, a caution may be provided. However if you wish to avoid this structure, the suggested diversion is to use M62/M1. The PDF shows the location of the A628 Freshwater structure. pdf
General - East    
A63 Daltry Street Floyover, Kingston-upon-Hull - there is a 40 tonne weight restriction. The suggested diversion is to use the on/off slips pdf
Leominster - In Leominster, the Kenwater Bridge is limited to 44 tonnes. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
General - South    
Romney Road, Lydd - weak Network Rail structure. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
General - West    
A487 Caernarfon, abnormal loads are not permitted to travel through Caernarfon. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
A483 & A55 Wrexham Road East & West, there are weak bridges on the roundabout at J38 of the A55 at the junction with the A483. This shows the suggested diversion. pdf
